The Short Version
Local AI Studio is a local-first application. Your generations, chats, and documents are stored on your device. Standard creation tools process content locally. Web Research connects to public search and page-reading services only when you turn it on. We collect only the account, licensing, consent, and content-blind telemetry described below.
What Stays on Your Device
Every prompt, generated image, document, research report, and chat message is stored only in your local app data. There is no cloud sync of your content, no server-side history, and no human review of what you create.
What We Collect
To operate your account and license, we store your email address and which devices are licensed. To record agreement to these documents, we store which version of each you accepted and when.
Telemetry
Product telemetry is collected automatically and is limited to content-blind signals: two success booleans, whether the app launched and whether a generation completed without error, and, when a generation fails, a content-blind failure diagnostic. A failure diagnostic includes only a fixed failure reason and signature, your hardware tier and bucketed whole-GiB VRAM, your OS, and the app and internal model identifiers; never your prompt, reply, generated media, the program error output, its command line, or any file path.
What We Do NOT Collect
We do not collect your prompts, research requests, generated images, chat content, documents, file paths, subprocess output, or any analytics that could reconstruct what you made or talked about. Telemetry may include an internal model identifier, an opaque catalog id, not a marketing display name, so we can correlate failures with a specific model build.
Third Parties
Account, licensing, and consent records are stored with our infrastructure provider under their data-protection terms. When you enable Web Research, search queries derived from your request are sent to public search services and public page addresses are sent to page-reading services. Those services process that limited request data under their own terms. Local AI Studio does not send them your saved chats, documents, generated media, or local file paths.
Your Choices
You can sign out, remove a device, or delete your chat history at any time from the app. Deleting local data removes it permanently from this device.
